Athletic Training Information
Penn State Hazleton Athletic Training Services are focused on the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries sustained to our student-athletes. Sports participation in intercollegiate athletics involves an inherent risk of injury, and the student-athlete must share in the responsibility of prevention through following established safety protocols, communicating and reporting injuries to the sports medicine staff in a timely manner, and reporting for treatments and rehabilitation as directed.
Penn State Hazleton Athletic Training Services and the team physician have the final authority to determine if a student-athlete is removed or withheld from participation due to an injury, an illness or pregnancy. In addition, clearance for that individual to return to activity is solely the responsibility of the university and/or team's physician (or that physician's designated representatives).
Penn State Hazleton Athletic Training Services and Geisinger Sports Medicine provide a Team Physician as well as access to a wide variety of sports medicine care through Geisinger Health System.
Below are PDFs to download that outline the important policies and procedures of which each student-athlete must be aware. Please take the time to review these policies and procedures.
The Athletic Training Room is located on the lower level of the Physical Education Building, adjacent to the men's locker rooms. The Athletic Training Room is fully equipped with whirlpool tubs, hydrocallator, electrical stimulation unit, and ultrasound.
