Family Weekend announced for October 5 and 6
Penn State Hazleton’s annual Family Weekend will be held Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6 with activities planned by the Office of Student Affairs.
The schedule of events for Saturday includes:
Noon to 2:00 p.m. – Arrival and check in at the Charles T. Butler Teaching and Learning Resource Center upper level. Please pick up your long-sleeved t-shirt and ice cream voucher, if you placed an order. Orders must be received by September 20. Register for PSU Bingo at this time.
Noon* - Tailgate for the Penn State at Indiana game in the upper lobby of Butler. The tailgate, sponsored by the Penn State Hazleton Alumni Society and Penn State Hazleton Student Services, includes free food, beverages and door prizes.
* Please note: kickoff time may change based on the TV schedule, which is typically announced about two weeks before the game. Please check back to confirm the time.
Noon to 4:00 p.m. – Family Festival on the campus mall. Fun for all family members with a rock climbing wall, roving magician, photos with the Nittany Lion, drawings by a caricaturist, student organization displays and performances, antique photos, exhibit of works by renowned artist Yankel Ginsberg in the lobby of the Evelyn Graham Academic Building, basket raffle, and much more!
4:00 to 7:00 p.m. – Free time/dinner on your own. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for a list of restaurants and dinner options.
7:00 p.m. – Penn State Pride Bingo in the upper lobby of Butler. Play as a family and win lots of great prizes!
Family members have the opportunity to order long-sleeved t-shirts and half gallons of University Creamery ice cream on this form (PDF). Orders and payment are due by September 20.
On Sunday, October 6, Penn State Hazleton THON will sponsor a golf tournament and family luncheon at Sand Springs Country Club. Check in for the tournament will be held from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m., with a shot gun start at 8:15 a.m. The family luncheon will be held immediately following the golf tournament. Register today and help students raise money for kids with cancer. The deadline for registrations is September 27.
