Minor in Professional Writing!

 The Professional Writing minor is:

Spring 2012 courses
include:

  • ENGL 420 - Writing for the Web: This course helps students explore the unique opportunities and challenges of writing for the Web and electronic media. Students learn to compose and construct texts based on principles of audience awareness and persuasive appeal.  
     
  • ENGL 473 - Discourse Analysis: In this course, students study language as a social interaction, how different communities use rhetoric in different situations. Specifically, students will work with local community groups, listen to and identify issues of concern, and then use their writing skills to assist those community groups in accomplishing their goals.
